Product description:
BioCeraMAX is a highly effective biological filter media specially developed to improve water quality in freshwater and saltwater aquariums, paludariums, aquaterrariums and terrarium tanks. This filter media consists of small balls, rollers or powder made of fine-grained sintered glass, which provide an impressive filter surface of 600 m² per liter. This large surface area allows the colonization of beneficial nitrifying bacteria, such as Nitrosomonas and Nitrospira, which convert ammonia and nitrite into less harmful nitrates.
The BioCeraMAX media provides ideal conditions for these beneficial bacteria by creating a porous surface on which the microorganisms can colonize and multiply. These bacteria are essential for the breakdown of biological waste that could otherwise affect water quality and endanger the health of aquarium inhabitants.
BioCeraMAX is perfect for a variety of filter systems, including canister filters, overflow filters, internal filters with chambers for loose filter media (e.g. TURBOFILTER), sump tanks and filter chimneys. It can be used in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums and is particularly recommended for tanks with large and numerous fish.
This filter media is ready to use immediately and does not require any pre-treatment such as rinsing. Simply pour the contents of the package into the filter basket or filtration chamber. For optimal results, BioCeraMAX should be placed behind the mechanical filter cartridges and before the chemical filter media.
One 1 liter package of BioCeraMAX is sufficient for AQUAEL filter models such as Unimax 150, Unimax 250, Midikani 800, Minikani 80, Minikani 120, ASAP and Versamax. It is recommended to replace about one third of the filter media every 6-12 months to ensure optimal performance. When cleaning the filter, the cartridge should be rinsed with aquarium water and not cleaned with tap water to maintain sterilization and effectiveness.
