Water filters - Filtering out individual components

Special water filters can be particularly helpful in treating stagnant water and poor tap water quality. They make it easy to filter out specific components such as nitrate or phosphate. Mixed bed resin filters are also popular in aquatics.

Nitrate and phosphate filters for high-quality filtration

This nitrate filter is specially designed for use in aquariums with a bypass. The strongly alkaline resin, manufactured by Lanxess, has a macroporous structure rather than a gel-like structure like other exchange resins. This ion exchange resin removes not only nitrate but also phosphate. The macroporous structure facilitates the dissolution of the absorbed organic matter during the rinsing and regeneration process. Lewatitt exchange resins have a long tradition in aquatics and are therefore ideally suited for direct use in aquariums. The filter column is filled with Lanxess Lewatitt Mp800 (formerly Mp 500). We recommend regeneration with a saline solution every 4 weeks. For regeneration, you need conventional table salt without iodine.
